Dear Members,
Following our two main events and this year’s fireworks, the Society expects to generate a small surplus, which will be added to our funds in the Society bank account. This is part of our plan to build funds that can be invested in projects to improve our village, its facilities and its environment. We have already started on some of the smaller, lower-cost projects, and we have several other ideas that we would like to discuss with you.
We would therefore like to use our forthcoming EGM to:
- Update members on what we are doing and our plans for the Society.
- Discuss some of the projects we are considering for the village.
- Hear your ideas and suggestions.
- Put proposals to members for a vote where appropriate.
EGM – The EGM will now be held at:
The Old Ship Inn
Saturday 31 October 2026
10.30am
There will be tea, coffee and biscuits available, so hopefully we can combine some serious discussion about the future of our village with a pleasant Saturday morning get-together.
For those who can attend, it would be helpful if you could let me know by replying to this email, so that we have an idea of numbers for the refreshments.
We hope as many members as possible can join us. Your views, ideas and support are important as we decide how best to use the Society’s funds and continue to make a positive difference to our village.
Best wishes
Steve Shine
Chairman – Upwey Society
