Upton, McIntosh, Wilson – 14 December 2018
Local musicians Jess Upton, Robbie McIntosh and Steve Wilson are playing in the Old School Village Hall on Friday 14 December. Doors 7:30pm.

Annual Bonfire Party – 5 November 2018
The Bonfire Party on Monday November 5 was a great success. 700 to 800 people turned up on a dry night to enjoy an enormous bonfire, spectacular freworks and great food.
We are, as ever, indebted to the Foot family for the use of the land and providing material for the fire.
Particular thanks go to Chris Emblen and Stuart Mead, who took over the organisation this year and made sure that the annual event continued.
Craft Show – 21 to 29 July 2018
The annual craft show is in the Old School Hall, Church Street from 21 to 29 July.
There will be ceramics, wood carving and turned wood,art, textiles and jewellery on show and for sale.
There will also be a raffle, with a quilt and other craft prizes, in aid of the maintenance of the Old School Hall.
Dog Show – 15 July 2018
There’s a dog show, in age of the fund for the new facilities at St Laurence’s Church, at Upwey House meadow from 1 pm on Sunday 15 July
Entry (for humans!) is £1.00 per person; free for children under 16.
There’ll be 14 fun classes for dogs at £1.50 per entry, for example:- Best Veteran Dog; Waggiest Tail; Prettiest Bitch; Fancy Dress dog and owner, and Best Junior Handler – and lots more, with prozes and rosettes to be won.
There’ll also be tea and cake etc, and side shows.
Quangle Wangle Choir Concert – 7 July 2018
The Quangle Wangle Choir will be giving a concert in St Nicholas’ Church, Broadwey at 7:30pm on Saturday 7 July.

Upwey Open Gardens 7 & 8 July 2018
Each year gardens in the village are opened by their owners for others to enjoy. This year Upwey gardens will be open on 7 and 8 July. It’s a great day out for garden lovers, families – or anyone who enjoys a stroll in the sunshine (we hope!).
As well as the gardens there are:
• Teas
• Ice creams
• Pottery demonstration
• Art exhibition in the Old School Hall
• Mini craft market
• Raffle
• Vintage vehicles
Admission is by programme which costs £4 per person (accompanied children free).
You can buy programmes on the day at the car park – in Damyons Mead in Church St – or at the triangle on the corner of Church St and Stottingway St.
South Dorset Ridgeway Festival of Discovery – 15 to 24 June 2018
Walks, family events, exhibitions and talks are among the free events taking place from June 15 to 24 organised for people to explore the South Dorset Ridgeway, which runs east/west, less than a mile north of Upwey.
