Upwey’s Open Gardens weekend on 13th and 14th July 2019 was a great success.
22 gardens opened this year, almost all on both days. The weather held, and we were delighted to welcome many visitors.

22 gardens opened this year, almost all on both days. The weather held, and we were delighted to welcome many visitors.
Bayard Dairy will again be open on Open Farm Sunday. 11am to 4pm.
The exhibition is part of Open For Art, the visual arts Open Studio event across South Dorset from 18th May to 2nd June.
During their annual exhibition, the Upwey Potters are demonstrating their skills and will talk to anyone about their processes. There are various workshop sessions during the show.
Over the first weekend 18th/19th May there are free half hour have a go throwing sessions, promoted as part of the national Hey Clay event. Spaces are limited and must be pre-booked using the Eventbrite system on the potters’ Hey Clay page.
The throwing sessions will be two and a half hours long starting at 10am and 2pm, with limited numbers. This webpage gives details of the event, with a link to the special events and workshop page, which has an email link for booking workshops.
The Upwey Wishing Well (accessible from the Wishing Well Tea Rooms) is again being dressed by Maggie Cook and her team. It will be in place from the early May bank holiday for a couple of months.
The Upwey Society’s wine challenge returned at 7:30pm on 6 April in the Old School Hall, wine and supper included.
A great evening. And someone must have won!
